Slow down your shutter speed for 4th of July Fireworks

I slowed down my shutter speed to 1/30 and set my camera on a tripod to get the smooth lines of motion from my neighborhood firework display. The nice sunset colors come from a lot of post-processing because it was fairly dark out. I also had to lighten the shadows in post to bring out any person's face.

The daytime pictures were a lot easier to shoot and work with. I mainly am sharing them to show off composition and my cute baby.

My first picture of Lee with a Roman Candle is my favorite. All firework shots were a matter of repeated clicking of the shutter and hoping for serendipity because I never knew when anything was going to blast.

I enjoy the 4th of July fireworks and hope to get more sparklers and paint with light more next year.
